Flandre Scarlet
Type:
HP: 50
Atk: 130
Def: 85
Sp. Atk: 120
Sp. Def: 85
Speed: 90
Ability: Hustle / Plus
Tier: Fundex OU
Flandre's most renowned title of "destruction of anything and everything" doesn't belong to her for nothing. She's a hard offensive hitter, more so in her Attack. With the ability of Hustle, her physical attacks are heightened even further which may prove to be dangerous, with the downside of an accuracy cut. Special attacks from her can be useful, but it's not very common and should only be used to wall opponents with low Defense. Besides, her physical movepool is considerably better than her special. As far as Flandre's defenses and speed go, they are a bit on the low side, so be mindful that she most likely won't be able take many hits. Even worse, her HP is very low.
"I'll make you go kyuu!"
Flandre Scarlet (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Hustle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) / Jolly Nature (+Speed, -SAtk)
- Laevateinn
- Outrage
- Earthquake / Superpower
- Crunch
An all-out physical set. Plow down your foes powerfully and speedily with the help of your scarf. The set offers a decent type coverage. You should be able to get in as much damage or KO's as you can before she's taken down. A speedy Flandre with Laevateinn or Outrage can be lethal on any Fundex that doesn't wall her.
Other Options
Sunny Day, Hone Claws, Superpower
If you choose not to use a Choice Scarf, you can equip Sunny Day over Earthquake or Crunch if you don't have a Fundex that possesses Drought (Like Satan, etc. which you should have), to make Laevateinn even deadlier. Although, I wouldn't suggest the latter solely for STAB purposes.
Hone Claws can be used to increase your Attack further, and helps to numb over your accuracy being halved from Hustle. You sometimes can't afford to miss, which may cost you a KO. However, due to Flandre's frailness, you may not be able to use it effectively.
Superpower can be used as an alternative over Earthquake, but keep in mind it lowers Attack and Defense.
Checks and Counters
Laevateinn is devastating in Sun, and can be quite tricky to foes who don't know how to properly wall her. Despite being such a great physical attacker, it does not take a lot of effort to destroy her. For the most part, any super effective move or an outspeed can put an end to her, so it's very important that you get the upper hand in Speed. Her moves are really only effective on someone who doesn't have very good defenses, such as Yuugi who can wall physical attacks very well. In these cases, you should just switch Flandre out unless you have a special attack of some sort up your sleeve to take Yuugi out before she does.
