Reimu Hakurei
Type:
HP: 110
Atk: 80
Def: 125
SAtk: 80
SDef: 150
Spd: 60
Ability: Regenerator / Serene Grace / Friend Guard
Tier: Fundex OU
Reimu is one of the greatest special walls in the Fundex, possessing the highest Special Defense of Fundex OU, together with great HP, great Defense and Regenerator. However, she has to resort to Wish to recover, and her offenses aren't really usable either unless you get Calm Mind boosts. She does get Serene Grace to use Special attacks for side effects, and Fantasy Seal can break a sub and hit again if it's powerful enough.
"The Shrine Maiden of Paradise"
Reimu Hakurei (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Wish
- Protect
- Fantasy Seal / Evil-Sealing Circle / Ice Beam
Reimu's standard walling set, which contains both the Toxic + Protect and Wish + Protect move combinations. Wish takes two turns to heal, but Protect makes that less hampering. Reimu can run either STAB attack on the last slot, but you can also run Ice Beam so immunities won't be bothering Reimu.
"Lazy Miko"
Reimu Hakurei (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace / Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Wish
- Fantasy Seal / Psyshock
- Thunderbolt / Ice Beam / Focus Blast / Hidden Power [Fighting]
With Calm Mind, Reimu's Special walling becomes even more devastating than it already was, and at the same time she can actually deal good damage. Wish is straightforward. Fantasy Seal or Psyshock are for STAB; the first option offers you sub-breaking, while the second aims for enemy Defense instead of Special Defense. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam offer great coverage, but leave Reimu walled by Steel types, so you could want to use Focus Blast or Hidden Power over either Thunderbolt or Ice Beam.
"All donate to Raymoo!"
Reimu Hakurei (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 52 HP / 200 Def / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Evil-Sealing Circle
- Fantasy Seal / Psychic / Psyshock
- Ice Beam / Focus Blast / Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Thunderbolt / Focus Blast / Hidden Power [Fighting]
This Reimu set tries to be more offensive instead, with Serene Grace to make all secondary effects happen more likely. Psychic can also be used here because of its side effect that lowers Special Defense. The rest of the coverage has been explained previously.
Other Options
Thunder Wave, Reflect and Light Screen, Shadow Ball, Grass Knot
Thunder Wave is an option for a double status set.
Reflect and Light Screen can be set up by Reimu, but mind she's slow.
Shadow Ball is an attacking option that hits other Psychic types and Ghost types hard.
Grass Knot can be used on the heavy Doomsday and Giant Enemy Crab for massive damage.
Checks and Counters
Reimu is immune to Ghost because of her part Normal typing, but Bug and Dark are still super effective on her. Leon can 2HKO Reimu with Bug Buzz, for example. Taunt also heavily cripples Reimu, because she mostly relies on her non-attacking options. The Taunter will have to watch out for a Serene Grace offense set though. And since Reimu's offensive stats aren't really high, she finds herself walled by others with good Special Defense that aren't weak to her moves.
